About Olathe Housing Authority

The Olathe Housing Authority provides subsidized housing for 639 families with income less than 80% of Olathe's median. Many of our residents are elderly or disabled. The goals of our programs are to help our family's foster stability and move toward self-sufficiency. The Olathe Housing Authority is located within the City of Olathe Housing Services Division.

The Olathe Housing Authority owns and manages 130 conventional public housing units subsidized by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Sixty-Six of our units are located in a four story high-rise with the remaining 64 family units scattered throughout the city of Olathe.

The Olathe Housing Authority administers 509 Vouchers. Families receiving vouchers can choose where they would like to live providing the unit meets eligibility requirements and the landlord is willing to participate in the program. The Housing Authority acts as an agent for HUD in this program, making subsidy payments to the private landlords of Housing Choice Voucher holders.
